Born to entertain with an Acoustic Pop feel, Andy YWZ was born and raised in Malaysia and is now currently living in America. He enjoys filling spaces and whatever is in it, with joy. Whether it is through his guitar or his voice, music is how he speaks. Andy YWZ would previously hide behind the shadows of other artists by constantly covering their music, but he is now stepping forward, writing and performing his own compositions.
Andy’s perspective on how things should work, in regards to his music and fan base, is different from most. He believes in the process. He strongly feels that the fan should be able to engage in and follow the artist from the very beginning of their career; seeing him in his successes and failures. He believes in communication and actually connecting with fans, so that his approach is more personal than passive.
Andy spent four months living in Nashville attending a semester long program called the Contemporary Music Center. Here, he was able to receive first hand experience on the music industry and the way it functions. Andy had the opportunity to study under Rick Elias, an accomplished songwriter. Rick played a big role in Andy’s experience and growth in his musicianship. He was also able to experience a legitimate tour that each semester of the program is geared toward. On the tour he was able to perform his single, “Too Far Gone.” He is currently working on an EP that remains untitled and will be released late 2012.
Andy YWZ believes in the idea of “traveling with the artist” and having a “show as I go” mentality. So there are a few ways you can stay connected with him. One is by emailing him email@example.com. Another way to stay connected to all of his social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) is through his OneSheet page, http://onesheet.com/AndyYWZ/. Andy will always make sure his listeners are taken care of, but he cannot continue to move forward without the support of his fans and their responses to his music and videos.
