Singer/songwriter Earl Harville hails from Gary, IN- the birthplace of the Jackson clan. His love of music started as a very young child when he fell in love with the sounds of Dionne Warwick, Tina Turner, and Gladys Knight and the Pips. Fueled by the tunes he heard coming the radio and stereo courtesy of his father and sister, music was a passion that would never let up. When Earl joined the church at age 10, a new world opened up to him. He would fall in love with the piano and be constantly stimulated by the wonderful singing from the choir. It was not uncommon for him to go home and mimic the musicians and directors he saw during worship. By age 11, he was tapped to begin directing with the Children's Choir.
Earl was 15 when he began teaching himself to play keyboards. It was around this time that he began to discover his voice. He continued to be inspired by the music of the church but also by such artists as Prince, the Time, Luther Vandross,& Stevie Wonder. He joined his first band as a freshman in college and began formal music studies while majoring in nursing. With encouragement of his instructors, he changed majors and eventually completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Music-Vocal Performance at Columbia College Chicago. He began teaching school and also started giving private voice and piano lessons. He went on to complete a Master of Music Education degree as he continued his teaching career.
This midwestern boy moved to Long Beach, CA in the summer of 2009 to build his private voice teaching studio. He didn't know that this would also bring the return of Earl the artist. In early 2010, he returned to performing & writing and found himself again. He began building a following and started recording his debut CD. He even formed a show choir for teens and yound adults called Urban Rhythm. Unfortunately, he had to return to his Indiana hometown in the fall of 2010.
Earl is now preparing to get back to Southern California in late 2012 while he continues to write new music and perform in Chicagoland as well teaching wonderful voice students. He is excited for the next leg of his journey as an openly gay R&B/soul artist following his call to sing, play, and write.
