Coming from a small but known area by the world for music in North Alabama dating back to the 60’s and 70's known as "The Muscle Shoals Sound". The FlyBoyz Team are steadily building a strong name on the Southeast‟s College campus party circuit and quickly becoming a hot opening act for headliner events and at the same time putting "The Shoals Area" back on the map.
Lifelong friends, FlyBoyz Team members B’Skee aka Lil‟ B (Brandon Jones), Breezy 2Tymes (Nic Brewis), and J’Nyce (Jasper McCroskey) blow off haters with a lyrically smart, fun and sexy sound that makes the ladies hot, yet tough enough to bump in the street. You can‟t fake chemistry, and from the mic to the track, from the track to the ipod, and from the street to the stage, the FlyBoyz Team have that “it” everybody wants but few can create.
Plus, they‟re easy to work with. All of them held down regular jobs, which is where the FlyBoyz story begins. Going to work started putting them to work.
Lil B tells it. “Breezy and me grew up playing basketball and all that, then one day ran into him on a job I had just got. He was beatin‟ on anything in front of him and rappin” all over the workhouse, all the time, and that was my thing too, so we said let‟s get it popin”, you know? We started spending money on studio time and beats, then we went looking for J’Nyce, cause everybody in our, hood knew he could ride a track. Him and Breeze are cousins and bruh came in the door wit it. You could feel it that first night, straight up. All this a few years ago and we‟ve been trying to do it professionally like the big boys ever since. We ready.”
Everybody contributes on their recordings and it‟s on stage where their Swag developed. B’Skee, 21, holds down the storytelling end of the set, laid back in the cut doing a Sneaky Pete type thing as he rhymes nonstop. Breezy 2Tymes, 22, pours in melody and pounds out beats while adding the right accent on the mic. J’Nyce 22 naturally jumps out front as the hype man on a mission, pumping the audience and pushing the team‟s crazy beat riding lyrics.
Performing at open mic nights and opening acts for buzzin” Artist got them noticed by local club owners, promoters, and even radio folks in North Alabama. Says B’Skee, “I think it‟s beginning to work for us because we‟re really just trying to be ourselves as entertainers. As a matter of fact, that‟s how we got our name. You know how it is, we stay ”fly” and the ladies love us. We‟re not trying to brag but it describes us to a “T”. We like fine women and hot clothes and we make music for people that want to really enjoy life.
