AbzentMinded a.k.a. “The Bearded Freak” is a one-man enterprise consisting of the talents of a Guitarist, Lyricist and Songwriter, Producer, Certified Audio Engineer and Mixer. He was taught music at the tender age of 4, learning the grand piano, taught by his grandmother, who was a classically trained pianist who toured the country throughout her youth. His parents are considered some his main influences, his mother being a life-long fan of the craft and former employee/ho-host of KSPC Blues Radio and; and his father a blues enthusiast and harmonica player.
Currently serving as rhythm guitarist for the hottest hip-hop/rock group to date, The Rebellion, which has garnered mass publicity, including playing Hollywood; hits on XXL Magazine, XXLMag.com, allhiphop.com, AllRadioNews.com, UrbanInsite.com, Goomradio.com, TMZ.com; regular radio play on V-103 Atlanta, GA; featured TRINA DA BADDEST CHICK on their latest single “Grown and Sexy” (Remix), and recently acquired the legendary JOE JACKSON for managerial services, as well as airplay on FuseTV and MusicChoice Digital Cable Channels. This opportunity came about while AbzentMinded was working with the group’s DJ at Sam Ash Music. Both Abzent and The Rebellion’s DJ quit their jobs at Sam Ash to shoot their group’s official music video “Grown and Sexy.”
As a lyricist, AbzentMinded has worked with many credible MC’s, most notably the legendary CHINO XL on the song “Lyrical Arson,” produced by: R.O.T. and also featuring O-MINUZ. He has performed on stages from the Inland Empire to Orange County to Los Angeles County. Currently working on a new album, AbzentMinded’s lyrical prowess stems from a multi-cultural and multi-musical background, mixing complex rhyme patterns, similes and metaphors with legitimate life stories, with a vocal style that combines rhythm, aggression, pain, love and hope into a package that is second to none.
As an audio engineer/mixer and producer, AbzentMinded began recording and producing beats for local artists at age 15 and was eventually certified through Citrus College Recording Arts Program for Audio Engineering and Mixing. He spent over 2 years running a fully functional recording studio out of his mother’s pool house. After relocating back to the Inland Empire, AbzentMinded soon landed a position with Rep Records, quickly becoming Senior Sound Engineer for the label, recording virtually all of the major projects, including mixing the song “California (Remix)” By: Rico featuring the well-known BADAZZ.
Currently, AbzentMinded is collaborating with local artists, including O The Architect, who featured AbzentMinded on 2 songs off of the upcoming album “Live Free or Die Book1: The Decision; continuing writing lyrics and producing beats for his next 3 upcoming mixtapes, and pursuing avenues in internet business.
