GOOD FOR GRAPES,formed in September of 2010, is an innovative six member group from Vancouver BC. The band brings a fresh and edgy sound to the ‘alternative folk rock’ scene with an expansive range of instrumentation from Keyboards and Guitars to Accordion and Trombone, stunning vocal harmonies, and influences drawn from the likes of Mumford & Sons to Simon & Garfunkel. With their youthful exuberance, powerful live performances and ‘folk stomping’ style, Good For Grapes makes the all-important concert experience a celebration, winning over new fans with each performance.
As the GRAND WINNERS of the National Rogers Battle of the Bands ® powered by urMusic, Good For Grapes became the top band in all of Canada, beating out over 250+ bands and winning $3,500 cash to further their goals. Subsequently, they were crowned the GRAND WINNERS of Supernova’s National Band on the Run 2011, beating out over 500+ bands across Canada, winning a free trip to Toronto to showcase and record. While in Toronto the band recorded 4 new tracks at Coalition Studios (Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan) which are now being completed at Vancouver’s Greenhouse Studios (Matthew Good Band, Nickleback).
