A Music Creator. A Producer. A Barista.
Born in New York, raised in Athens, Greece, and now residing in Detroit Suburbia, Michigan, Alexander Vlachos (AKA Greater Alexander) is an Alumnus of Wayne State University with a degree in Music and a Co-Major in International Studies. During his time at WSU, Alexander studied Music Technology and piano enthusiastically. He started listening to more electronic music like Aphex Twin and Chemical Bros. Alexander started mixing sound for the WSU Jazz Invoice Ensembles and got turned on to Bossa Nova and Jazz. This triggered memories of the music he grew up listening to. His father and mother heavily played him European artists like Georges Moustaki as well as The Beatles. After graduating in 2004, Alexander had written over 20 down-tempo Electronica pieces as well as many unfinished classical piano compositions. From 1999-2004, Alexander thoroughly practiced piano and classical guitar and it was not until late December 2004 that he started writing guitar ballads.
