John Lyons is a passionate, soulful American Blues / R&B musician cuurently living in Zürich, Switzerland. The John Lyons Band is guaranteed to get you moving. Sometimes rocking out, sometimes soulful and soft, always dynamic with a killer groove that leaves nobody standing still!

Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan USA 1969. Raised as a farmboy ona fruit farm near Glenn Michigan, John picked up the electric guitar at age 12 and never put it down since! All self taught, a natural musician's ear, early influences were 60's and 70's rock like Led Zeppelin, JimiHendirx, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, and Aerosmithbut also a big heap of Detroit soul & funk, Motown& Chicago Blues. As John explored music as a teenager, his tastes changed to harder rock and early electro/rap styles, by artists from ZZ Top to Motley Crüe, to Iron Maiden to Afrika Bambatta or Sugar Hill Gang. In the early 90's when most of the young people were listening to Nirvana, John had already been bitten hard by the BluesRock bug, especially the music of Stevie Ray Vaughn for the next many years shaped his guitar practicing and playing style. Since the age of 17 John has played in Live bands of different flavors but all having one common theme - rock, blues & soul. Since 2005 in Switzerland, John has been playing under his own name and fronting his band as singer/guitarist.2006 John met and was joined at a concert by one of his heros; Founding Robert Cray Band bassist Richard Cousins. In June 2010, John had yet another highlight when he organized a concert and was joined by Grammy nominated signer/guitarist/producer Alan ' BB Chung King and the Buddaheads' Mirikitani and again by world class bassist Richard Cousins who has performed with Robert Cray Band, Clapton, John Lee Hooker, etc.

Der seit 2001 in der Schweiz lebende John Lyons ist in der Heimat des Blues geboren und aufgewachsen – in den USA. Er lebte mehr als 30 Jahre in den Staaten, wo er auf Bühnen von Michigan und Florida bis Chicago gespielt hat. Nach mehreren Jahren in verschiedenen Bands entschied sich John Lyons seine eigene Band zu gründen. John Lyons (Gitarre und Gesang),singt und spielt den Blues mit Authentizität und Leidenschaft. Ihr Stil ist stark beeinflusst von Musikern wie Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robert Cray oder Muddy Waters und ergibt eine Mischung - aus Texas Shuffle, Chicago Blues und New Orleans Grooves – die niemanden still sitzen lässt.

John LYONS originaire de Kalamazoo, Michigan, Etats-Unis, chante et joue le Blues avec passion, flamme et authenticité. Elevé dans une ferme, John a grandi en jouant le Blues et le rock dans divers groupes, avant de se diriger vers la Floride où il s'est produit dans différents groupes ainsi qu'en solo et duo. John y a rencontré sa femme Daniela (de Zürich) et ils ont habité Chicago environ deux ans. Depuis 2001, ils habitent à Regensdorf, Suisse. Vers 2005 John forma son groupe avec la vision de jouer son propre style incluant Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Cray, Jimi Hendrix, T-Bone Walker, le son Motown de Detroit et le Blues de Chicago. Depuis 2006 le goupe s'est stabilisé en trio et joue sur de nombreuses scènes, notamment en Suisse.
