KIYOMI was born and grew up in Tokyo, started to sing at early age, joined a classic choir at Primal school, and developed her singing skill in a band at high school. Her first love in music was Classic music, and moved on to Soul and Jazz, Blues, 60's 70's music. In 1992, KIYOMI moved to UK, lived in West London, studied Music at University Of Westminster. On the first year of the music course, she got a record deal with a Japanese independent record label, released an EP "Phantom Power" under the unit name of "Mighty Atom" which had a strong influence of break beats, whole club scene at that time mid 90's,Trip Hop, and Bristol sound. Her EP has hit No. 1 in Shibuya and Ikebukuro HMV shops. Through the success of this group, KIYOMI has begun to collaborate with Andrew Sharply (Stock Hawsen & Walkman), and went on a tour in France. Also she's experienced club sound from going to legendary parties such as Gilies Peterson "That's How It Is" at Bar Rumba, Drum & Bass parties: Metalheaz-Sunday Session at Blue Note(Hoxton Squre), DJ Fabio - Swerve, Movement at Bar Rumba, Progression Sessions at Ministry of Sound ... She started to collaborate with producers/djs in club scene. In 2004, Drum&Bass Producer Klute and Calibre featured KIYOMI on their collaboration track "Losing you" which has hit No. 1 in Drum and Bass Arena chart, and stayed on top for a month. "Losing You" was heavily played out on BBC Radio 1 by DJ Fabio. Klute's album "No one's listening any more". (released Jan '05) "Don't wanna be alone" is the second big tune from Klute feature Kiyomi's vocal. Goldie heard this track and loved this track. (released in March '05 from Metalheaz Platinum) KIYOMI's vocals were featured on various producers such as Paradox, Alaska, Naibu. KIYOMI is Currently working on her first album, featuring various artists from Jazz fields such as Robert Mitchel(Winner of Best Jazz Album 2009 by Giles Peterson), Richard Spaven (Cinematic Orchestra, Jose James, 4hero) Releases "Losing you" by Klute &Calibre Featuring Kiyomi "Give me your faith", "Adult", Does the darkness makes you sad?"
