Benjamin Shwartz, violist, pianist and composer decided to experiment with old and new sounds and difrent flavors back in 2003 integrating Klezmer music from a Mexican standpoint. Klezmerson gracefully combines melodies and rhythms from Europe's Jewish tradition and interacts with gypsy, middle eastern and Latin American influences utilizing curious instruments like the Dobro and Veracruzan Huapago Guitars. It creates a peculiar fusion including rock, funk and jazz improvisations over a Klezmer theme. Back in 2005, Klezmerson released their debut CD, obtaining unprecedented success among a very eclectic audience. Rock, Jazz, World Music fans alike began to follow the evolution of the band. In 2008 the long expected release of their second CD titled Klezmerol, the band risks everything by changing their more traditional sound combining original music and traditional Klezmer themes with and even more urban sound inspired by the city that saw Klezmerson come alive, Mexico City. You will hear in Klezmerol, everything from distortional saxophones to MiniMoogs that deliver a musical experience based on Klezmer and the intensity of the City.
In 2011 a third album called "siete" is released by John Zorn's Tzadik Label
