In just the past few years, San Francisco based band, My Peoples, has created a unique island infused city sound that has allowed them to open for a variety of acts that include UB40, Ziggy Marley, Ozomatli, Blondie, Katchafire, Dirty Heads, Jake Shimabukuro, and many more. Blending styles of Reggae, Rock, and Hip-Hop, the 4th release of their self-titled EP focuses on their new found sound: “Urban Aggressive Aloha.”
Recorded & Mixed by Don Budd at Tone Freq Recording Studio in San Jose, tracks “Tell Me” and “Pakalolo” are definite crowd favorites. Singer Mike D. (originally from Honolulu, HI) says, “this EP finally sounds like us when we play live and now with these quality radio friendly tunes, I can only hope to hear everyone singing with me at shows.”
From the usual topics of love and friendship, track “How Many Times” brings light to the hard times we live in while striving to motive and teach people that ultimately we hold the power to make positive change in our lives.
In all seriousness, My Peoples is all about rockin’ faces and having a funky good skankin’ time. My Peoples is your Peoples.
My Peoples is – Mike D (frontman), Steve Salta (drummer), Chris Jones (bass player), Josh Hoover (saxophone), and Lansky (emcee).
